Elections for the Village of Caroline were held in October of 2013 to elect council to a four (4) year term. By-elections are held to fill council vacancies as required.
Councillors have the opportunity to significantly influence the future of the Village of Caroline. Each councillor must care about the community and have time to be involved in making positive changes.
- The Village of Caroline has 5 elected councillors
- The councillors appoint one councillor as Mayor at their Organizational Meeting in late October.
- Each councillor will be appointed to serve on other community boards and committees such as Caroline Library, Caroline & District Recreation & Agriculture Society, Rocky Senior Housing Authority, Rocky Mountain Regional Solid Waste Authority, etc.
- Regular council meetings are now held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month and last approximately 3 hours.
- Councillors are remunerated $75.00 for each regular council meeting and $75.00 for each board and committee meeting as per Council Policy #HUM-10-002
Each prospective candidate must submit a completed nomination form signed by 5 people who are eligible to vote.
